Gopeshwar College, Hathwa, illuminated with multidimensional knowledge in Gopalganj district, is an important center of enlightenment. It was established in July 1956 and was affiliated with Bihar University, Muzaffarpur in 1975. Presently this college is a Constituent unit of Jai Prakash University, Chapra, established on 22 November 1990.Gopeshwar College is approved by UGC. To start this college, Maharaja Gopeshwar Prasad Sahi of Hathua Raj generously donated 17.45 acres of land /building. At present, a total of 14 departments are functioning under the Faculty of Science, Arts and Humanities. In graduation, there are arrangements for studies of BA and BSc. Under Intermediate, Inter Arts and Inter Science are taught. Examination Cell has been formed to monitor and control the examination related activities of the college.IQAC is working towards improving the academic and administrative practices of the college as well as pursuing future NAAC accreditation. The Sports Department organizes sports activities in the college from time to time. One unit of NCC and two units of NSS are active in the college.Most of the area is under CCTV camera surveillance. In this college, the college is moving on the path of development with facilities like sports, NCC ground, grand Krishna stage, auditorium, common room for boys and girls, water RO purifier,laboratory with rich and modern equipment, rich Maharani Durgeshwari sahi Royal Library etc. There are total 1024 sanctioned seats in Intermediate Science and Arts. According to the new education policy 2020, arrangements for studies have been made in the college. The study center of Maulana Azad National Urdu University is established here since 2019.
It is a matter of great honour and privilege for me to serve as the Principal of Gopeshwar
College, Hathua, an institution with a rich legacy of academic excellence and cultural
values. As the first woman Pincipal of this esteemed college, I feel both humbled and
inspired to lead with responsibility, inclusivity, and vision.
Gopeshwar College has been a beacon of higher education in the region, shaping the lives
